When we really sit back and think about all the toxins and harmful products sold to us by corporations and profit motive alone, we have no reason NOT to at least CONSIDER, that we’ve got to look out for our own health and wellbeing, despite what’s sold in the stores, or what’s on TV. We’ve got to ensure that we can retreat to a Sanctuary… a SAFE PLACE at the end of the day. For most of us, that place means “home”.
The right to adequate housing in human rights law
Adequate housing was recognized as part of the right to an adequate standard of living in article 25 of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights and in article 11.1 of the 1966 International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
According to The United Nations’ “Right to Adequate Housing”, far more than just “the poor” are living in housing that is in violation of the declaration.
